Ahnnalee Elman
Ahnnalee received her Bachelor of Home Economics Degree from UBC, then spent two years teaching in Ghana, West Africa, with CUSO. After returning to Vancouver, she taught Foods and Nutrition for the Vancouver School Board while raising two children. After obtaining her MA in Education at UBC, Ahnnalee worked 10 years in administration before retiring in 2000.
In 2007, inspired by the pioneering work of Dr. Hamer and the insightful teaching of Caroline Markolin, Ph.D., she began her study of German New Medicine®. In 2011, she began teaching GNM to small, private groups. Recently she has added online groups to her schedule. Practicing GNM in daily life helps her maintain excellent health so she can thoroughly enjoy a very active lifestyle including dance (Ballroom, Latin, and Swing), tennis and pickleball.
Encouraging others to explore this transformative new understanding of health remains a passion. She believes that learning about GNM while in good health empowers individuals to confidently take full responsibility for their own health, naturally.
TOPIC: What is GNM?
German New Medicine® (GNM), the research of Dr. R.G. Hamer (1935 – 2017), offers us a revolutionary view of health that completely aligns with nature. Through his study of more than 40,000 brain CT scans, Dr Hamer discovered consistent connections between the brain, specific organs, and the emotional shocks or conflicts experienced by an individual.
In this way, he was able to provide us with a new understanding of our biology, expressed through the “Five Biological Laws” – principles that explain how the body’s responses to emotional distresses are not random and destructive, but biologically meaningful and purposeful.
GNM encourages us to see symptoms, not as malfunctions, but as messages from the body – indicators that a natural healing or adaptation process is taking place. Instead of reacting with fear, we can observe our symptoms with curiosity and understanding. By identifying the emotional conflict that initiated the biological program, healing can occur more completely on the emotional and physical levels.
German New Medicine® offers a refreshing, science-based and compassionate way to understand ourselves. It aligns us with nature and reconnects us with the body’s innate intelligence and wisdom. GNM empowers us to make informed personal decisions about our life and our health and is truly a gift to those who are ready and willing to receive it.
The research of Dr. Hamer is available for free through Dr. Caroline Markolin’s website,

The Five Biological Laws
1. The First Law – Every so-called “disease” begins with a biological conflict shock—an unexpected, dramatic, and isolating event.
2. The Second Law – Every so-called “disease” has two phases: an active stress phase and a healing phase, if the conflict is resolved.
3. The Third Law – The location and type of symptoms depend on which embryonic tissue and brain area are involved.
4. The Fourth Law – Microbes assist the body’s healing processes.
5. The Fifth Law – Each so-called “disease” is part of a meaningful biological program, designed by nature for our survival or the survival of the “pack”.
